Letter from my Heart to my Head
Something I wrote last night in the Redwoods and felt inspired to share
You say we are aimless.
I say we are wanderers.
You say we have never had a plan.
I say we are masters of letting go and letting God.
You say we are uncommitted.
I say we are not ready and it would take extra work to free ourselves from situations that do not suit us.
You say we are procrastinating.
I say our soul is a lounger from the old world long before capitalism and likes to eat grapes and soak in the public baths.
You say we are moody.
I say no one would respect the sea or write poems about it if it was always placid.
You say we are melodramatic.
I say we are born storytellers and prone to living life like a novel.
You say we are losing control of how others perceive us. I say it was a Fool’s errand anyway. Herding cats.
You say we are getting older and must settle for what we can get.
I say we will die on the sword of our true desires! (And why are you always so obsessed with timelines? They’re not very sexy).
